CHILD SAFETY POLICY

Child Safety Policy

At Sunrise Sports Club, student safety is our highest priority.

Every program is designed to provide a positive, respectful, and secure environment for children.

Our Commitment

We are committed to:

Providing a safe learning environment.
Promoting respect and inclusion.
Encouraging positive behavior.
Supporting children’s physical and emotional well-being.
Instructor Screening

Whenever required by schools, districts, or applicable law, instructors working directly with students will complete appropriate criminal background checks before providing services.

Additional documentation may be provided upon request by participating schools.

Professional Conduct

All instructors are expected to:

Treat every child with dignity and respect.
Maintain appropriate professional boundaries.
Use positive and age-appropriate communication.
Avoid discriminatory or inappropriate behavior.
Supervision

Students are supervised during program activities in accordance with school procedures and reasonable safety practices.

Whenever possible, instructors avoid isolated one-on-one situations with students.

Emergency Procedures

In the event of an emergency:

School emergency procedures will be followed.
School staff will be notified immediately.
Parents or guardians will be contacted through the school’s established procedures whenever appropriate.
Reporting Concerns

Any safety concern involving a student will be reported promptly to the appropriate school personnel and handled in accordance with applicable school policies and Washington State law.

Partnership with Schools

Sunrise Sports Club works collaboratively with schools to meet their individual safety requirements, supervision standards, and operational procedures.
