Sunrise Baseball Kids

Fall & Winter season, 2024

For kids ages 9 to 12,
Intermediate Level Players.

Enhance your skills and take your game to the next level.

In every pitch, there’s a story

Dear Parent and Young Ballplayer,

I’m Davied Espinosa, a 37-year-old former baseball athlete from Cuba. During my pre-university years, I had the privilege of training alongside current MLB professional players like José Abreu, the cleanup hitter for the Houston Astros, and Yasiel Puig, former Los Angeles Dodgers player—both from my hometown of Cienfuegos, Cuba.

I am excited to now share my experience and help your young ballplayers develop their skills and grow in the sport of baseball.

I’ve created a program called Sunrise Baseball Kids for children ages 9-12 who are passionate about this wonderful game.

The key pillars of the Sunrise Baseball Kids program are:

  • Develop fielding and hitting skills.
  • Learn essential tips and strategies to improve your game.
  • Foster teamwork skills.
  • Enjoy the game in a positive and fun environment.

If your child is eager to learn, improve, and have fun playing baseball, I encourage you to read on and discover how this program can help them grow both on and off the field.

Thank you very much!

Davied Espinosa

Limited group of 10 passionate young ballplayers!

Why?

I’m excited to offer a unique opportunity for 10 young ballplayers who are passionate about baseball and eager to see results. My goal is to provide a service that adapts to each player’s individual needs. I want to work closely with each child, ensuring they receive the attention and support necessary to excel and grow in the sport.

Perhaps you can consider some of the following questions:

What skill level is required for this program?

The program is designed for intermediate-level players aged 9 to 12. Participants should already have some familiarity with baseball fundamentals, but the focus will be on helping them grow and refine their skills.

How does the rainy season in Seattle affect baseball practices for kids?

During the rainy season in Seattle, baseball practices for kids will take place in covered facilities, such as batting cages. This allows us to continue developing their skills without interruptions, ensuring the kids keep improving despite the weather.

I want to make sure that the group works like a tight-knit team, where kids not only learn and improve their baseball skills but also form lifelong friendships.

This process ensures that everyone in the group is aligned with the program’s goals, which helps create an environment where learning and fun go hand in hand.

Why do I need to fill out a registration and qualification form for my child?

The registration and qualification form is crucial for me to ensure that your young ballplayer has the appropriate skill level required for the program. It also helps me assess if they are at the right point in terms of commitment.

I want to make sure that the group works like a tight-knit team, where kids not only learn and improve their baseball skills but also form lifelong friendships.

This process ensures that everyone in the group is aligned with the program’s goals, which helps create an environment where learning and fun go hand in hand.

How do you ensure a positive and safe environment for my child?

As a coach, my top priority is creating a positive and safe environment. I ensure that every session is structured, fun, and encouraging, so each child feels confident while learning.

With small groups of only 10 players, I can provide personal attention and closely track each player’s progress.

I focus on building teamwork, respect, and communication, helping kids grow as athletes and form friendships. Safety is always key, and I ensure support for the kids both physically and emotionally throughout the program.

Is there an option for my child to learn baseball if they are starting from scratch?

Yes, absolutely! We offer individual training sessions. These one-on-one sessions will introduce your child to the fundamentals of baseball, focusing on fielding, batting, and overall game strategy. This personalized instruction will help build their confidence and skills from the ground up, allowing them to progress at their own pace.

What should my child bring to the sessions?

Players should bring their own baseball gear (glove, helmet, bat, etc.), wear comfortable athletic clothing

+ Lunch a water bottle.

What safety precautions are in place during practice sessions?

We implement several safety measures, including a pre-session assessment of the field to identify any potential hazards. All training sessions are supervised by me, and we follow a warm-up protocol to prepare the kids physically. Additionally, a first aid kit is available at every session.

I am trained in first aid and CPR, and I always have parents’ contact information on hand to act quickly and effectively.

How do you handle medical emergencies or injuries during practice?

In case of a medical emergency, I follow an established protocol that includes immediate care for the child and contacting medical services if necessary. I am trained in first aid and CPR, and I always have parents’ contact information on hand to act quickly and effectively.

How do you ensure that all kids are playing at a level appropriate to their abilities to avoid accidents?

Before starting, I assess each child’s skill level through the qualification form and initial drills. This allows me to group players by similar skill levels, ensuring that everyone can participate safely and effectively without unnecessary risks.

How do you ensure my child’s emotional safety and well-being during training?

I promote an environment of respect and support where all children feel valued and safe. I do not tolerate bullying or any form of misconduct. If any negative behavior occurs, I will issue a warning, as I understand that children are still learning how to interact appropriately, especially at this challenging age. However, if the behavior continues after the warning, parents will be called and the child will be removed from the program.

In such cases, I will refund the money based on the sessions they have participated in. My priority is to create a positive atmosphere that fosters friendship and teamwork while ensuring that all participants are treated with respect.
